Rebecca S. Cepluch

Attorney at Law

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

With twenty two years of legal experience, including twenty years of experience concentrating in family law matters, Rebecca has a comprehensive knowledge of Juvenile Court procedures which allows protection of parents’ rights to their children at all stages of custody battles and abuse, neglect and dependency proceedings. She has obtained countless emergency orders for parents, grandparents and relatives in private abuse, neglect, dependency actions and custody disputes. These emergency orders are prepared and requested when a child is at risk for immediate physical or emotional harm, including allegations of sexual, physical or emotional abuse.

Rebecca obtains paternal rights to visitation and sole legal custody for fathers to children born out of wedlock and in divorce proceedings, despite the social presumption of legal custody to a mother.  Although vastly experienced in trial practice for highly contested divorces and custody battles, Rebecca routinely negotiates separation agreements and shared parenting plans in lieu of legal custody dispositions, which can provide both parents with equal parenting time and equal decision-making rights with their children.  She also fervently prosecutes and defends divorce complaints, post-decree motions, and Domestic Violence Civil Protection Orders in Domestic Relations courts. Utilizing collaboration methods, Rebecca can transform end of marriage agreements into dissolutions in a swift and efficient manner.

While providing criminal and juvenile delinquency defense, Rebecca has obtained frequent not guilty verdicts at trial, successfully having charges dismissed through motions based on speedy trial violations, motions to suppress illegally obtained evidence and insufficient evidence.
